I'm so sick and tired of this polarized attitude among Christians that say "If you don't vote Republican, then you aren't a Christian and if you aren't a Christian then you have to vote Democrat".

Just to let you know, there are more than just two parties in the United States. For the most part, I vote Republican and I’ll never vote Democrat. But, I don’t JUST vote Republican; I vote Independent much of the time, too. That's right. Just because I'm a Christian doesn't mean I vote for any candidate that SAYS he's a Republican. I don't follow Republicans blindly, unlike my Christian coworkers and acquaintances. My convictions towards God are stronger than my convictions towards any political party.

Here is something to think about: if the Antichrist was running as a Republican, would Christians still vote for him? Or, to put it another way, what is the difference between a godless Republican and a godless Democrat? Nothing. They are equally godless and equally disqualified for my vote.

I look at the fruit of a candidate before I vote for him. As Christians, are we not to “…try the spirits whether they are of God…” (1 John 4:1) and “Prove all things” (1 Thessalonians 5:21) “and to judge all things” (1 Corinthians 2:15)?

Too often Christians have the "Win-mentality" when they go to the polls. I mean, c'mon, who WANTS to vote for a loser? There's nothing wrong with wanting to win, the problem is that the "wanting-to-win" mentality supersedes their conscience towards God.

Christians often see only two candidates to vote for (through the media, in the paper, on the internet) and forget that there are other options available. Their reasoning goes like this: "Well, because there are no other candidates to vote for I should vote for the lesser of two evils." That's like choosing between Satan or a demon. Where in the Bible does it ever say that you should vote for the lesser of two evils? My Bible doesn't say that!

When I go the polls I vote my conscience. I will not deny my conscience, not for a "lesser evil" or for anything else. When I go to the polls I vote what God wants me to vote. Sometimes there are NO godly candidates. So, I leave it blank! Don't vote for someone who isn't godly!

When I stand before God on Judgment Day, He’s not going to be reviewing the times I voted for the winner. He’s going to reviewing if I voted for who He wanted me to vote for.

I would rather lose by doing what is right than win by having to compromise.
